I had 4 samples of blood taken from me to do a variety of tests. One of which was to test for the level of testosterone. I called today and was told "well, three are normal but this one isnt and I dont know why". I ended up getting an appt scheduled to see the doctor on Monday. There were a total of four tests to be done: Cholesterol, CBC, Glucose levels (and other stuff on that list that were similar) and testosterone. Would they take a sample from each vial of blood and run a testosterone check on it? or would one vial be dedicated for each test (as I would normally think it would be).
I'm wondering if the testosterone was low and the girl didnt want to elaborate on it over the phone. I called yesterday and was told that the testosterone report wasnt back yet but the others were and that the CBC and Cholesterol was fine and my triglycerides were just a little high.

Hi, I'm a phlebototmist, and what we would do, is print labels for each test, and only that test would be performed on that sample, some tests can be run form the same tube, such as a glucose etc, but the testosterone will only be run once, multiple tests aren't run on that kind of test, unless requested my your md. what he would probably do is look at the results and do some other test based on the results. also if a tube sat too long without beeing spun, wasn't refridgerated, or otherwise mishandled, the results can be way off.
