Posture Back Again Brace With Regard To Discomfort Control
I am a Physiotherapist and I treat back pain sufferers for a living. I am also a Pilate's teacher.
I recommend the use of a support brace for the back in people with lower back pain due to weakness in their lower back and abdominals. This weakness is usually due to person's habits and lack of fitness rather than their skeletal posture.
Poor strength in the abdominals and lower back will result in stress on the spinal joints causing pain. It will also cause a tilt of the pelvis mostly likely forward. This is as a result of weakness in the core stomach muscles as well as the upper back and lower back again muscles.
The muscles in the upper back support the neck and the shoulders. The shoulders should sit in the same plumb line as the ear and the side of the hip. This is the classic weak back posture with a, tilted pelvis and usually bowed legs. This position can cause shoulder pain, neck pain, upper back pain, lower back pain and headaches. The use of a posture support back brace to support the abdominals is essential for pain control.
As a Physiotherapist I treat the joints, I train Pilates and I do recommend the use of a posture back brace both for work as well as for sport. Pilates is especially useful for lower back pain control. as well as appropriate stretching. By putting on the back support and working with it, a person can improve their posture as well as strength and get to begin not requiring a assistance.
